It's good to be back!
Hi friends! I’m so excited to be writing this blog post and my goal is to keep it short and sweet, BUT it’s been a hot minute since I have been able to share with you all! My life has been FULL of adventure these last 4-5 months. I technically was suppose to write a blog post for December 1st, but God had other plans.
On November 29TH, I was in a crazy freak accident with my horse. We were chasing some cows in our hay field when my horse tripped, somersaulted, and landed on top of me. Thankfully, I wasn’t hurt too bad and only ended up breaking my collar bone in a couple spots and a few ribs! I did take a few weeks off to heal, but as soon as I could move and not be in too much pain, I was out working on our ranch again.
A few weeks before my accident, I did start a new endeavor that I am SUPER excited about! It’s been a dream of mine to own registered Texas longhorns and finally that dream became a reality! I bought 3 bred cows and 1 cow with a calf on her side and I am in love! (Well to be honest, I have already added more to my herd since then!) I have some big big plans with these cows and I’m looking forward to telling you all about it more in the future!
Late winter and early spring have been slower, but still a little crazy at the same time! We spent a lot of time outside ice fishing, working with horses, and cleaning up the ranch. My oldest daughter turned 7 and the twins turned 2. It really is true when they say “The days are long, but the years are short” because I still feel like all my kids should be little babies.
We are just getting started with the busy Spring time! We pushed back our calving season a little bit so we are just getting started this month! I love this time of year even though I’m running on very little sleep! Plus, we are replanting all our fields so it really makes the days seem long.
I hope this year brings all of us nothing but positivity and happiness! I’m looking forward to updating you guys on some things going on here at the ranch real soon!
